Peptide therapy

Physician-supervised peptides, when regulation allows and the biology warrants them.

Most peptides described on this page can be prescribed only if HHS and the FDA change the compounding rules. What the practice offers today is the groundwork: a board-certified psychiatrist credentialed with 503A compounding pharmacies, evaluating candidacy through a full workup, so that if access opens, peptides fold into a plan alongside psychiatry, TRT, and metabolic care with interactions already accounted for.

Availability note. Most peptides described here are not currently available for compounding, and the practice does not prescribe them today. They become prescribable only if HHS and the FDA change the compounding rules; the FDA Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee reviews their status July 23 to 24, 2026. Patients in active care will be informed if prescribing access changes. This page is education on what may become available.
01 · What's included

Peptides as part of a full plan.

i

Targeted workup

Inflammation, immune, hormonal, metabolic, and gut markers reviewed against your symptoms before peptides are considered.

ii

Physician prescribing

Once federal rules permit and peptides are indicated, scripts go to a PCAB-accredited 503A compounding pharmacy with Certificates of Analysis on file.

iii

Psychiatric coordination

Interactions with SSRIs, mood stabilizers, stimulants, and benzodiazepines are evaluated by the same physician managing your psychiatry.

iv

Ongoing monitoring

Repeat labs, symptom tracking, and a clear path to adjust or stop when the data or the response says so.

02 · Peptides relevant to psychiatric and whole-person care

Where peptides intersect with mental health.

None of these are FDA-approved for the uses described. They are off-label, evidence-graded, and prescribed only when the workup supports it.

  • 01BPC-157 (gut-brain, repair)
  • 02Semax & Selank (cognition, anxiety)
  • 03Thymosin-alpha 1 (immune modulation)
  • 04AOD-9604 & MOTS-c (metabolic)
  • 05Epitalon (sleep, circadian)
  • 06KPV (anti-inflammatory)

Compounding availability is in flux. BPC-157, TB-500, Epitalon, Semax, KPV, MOTs-C, and several others remain restricted from 503A compounding pending FDA PCAC review on July 23 to 24, 2026. The list above reflects peptides clinically relevant to psychiatric and metabolic presentations; what's currently prescribable is discussed at evaluation.

03 · How a first visit works

Evaluation first, peptides later.

Peptide therapy is the conversation that happens after everything else has been understood.

  1. Schedule a free consultationA brief call to confirm the practice is the right fit for what you need.
  2. Comprehensive evaluationFull history, symptoms, current medications, psychiatric background, and goals.
  3. Targeted labsInflammation, immune, hormonal, metabolic, and gut markers, ordered to connect symptoms to measurable biology.
  4. Plan and monitoring setIf peptides are indicated and federal rules permit prescribing, dosing is individualized and the path to adjust or stop is defined upfront.

04 · Questions

Peptide therapy, answered.

01Are peptides legal in North Carolina right now?
It depends on the peptide and how it's obtained. Some are fully FDA-approved drugs. Many marketed online are not, and several have been restricted from compounding. Where peptides are legally compoundable, they're prescribed through accredited 503A pharmacies after a full evaluation.
02Can a psychiatrist prescribe peptides via telehealth in NC?
Yes, when peptides are legally compoundable and the standard of care is met: full evaluation, appropriate labs, informed consent, and follow-up. There are no peptide "menus" or one-click ordering in this practice.
03Why pay a psychiatrist when peptide clinics are cheaper?
Peptide clinics and med spas usually prescribe without evaluating psychiatric medications, mood disorders, sleep, or neurological history. If you're on SSRIs, mood stabilizers, stimulants, or benzodiazepines, those interactions matter. One physician manages both sides here.
04Can peptides replace my psychiatric medications?
For some patients, particularly with inflammation, metabolic, or gut-related contributors, peptides may help reduce medication burden over time. That's a careful clinical decision made with monitoring, and any change happens under physician supervision.
05What are the risks of buying peptides online?
Unknown purity, unverified dose, no contamination testing, and no monitoring for interactions or side effects. Products labeled "research use only" sit outside any of the standards that make supervised therapy reasonably safe.
06How do I know if I'm a candidate?
Candidacy is defined by the workup: a thorough evaluation connecting your symptoms to biology that can be measured and influenced.
