Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Baghel Psychiatry, PLLC (“Baghel Psychiatry,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information collected through our website at thebh.us (the “Site”). We are a cash-pay telepsychiatry practice serving adults in North Carolina, led by Shantanu Baghel, DO, board-certified in psychiatry and forensic psychiatry.

This policy covers the Site. It does not govern the protected health information we create and maintain in the course of clinical care. That information is protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices. See the section on protected health information below.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you request an appointment, email us, or call us, you may give us your name, email address, phone number, and any details you choose to include in a message. Appointment requests on the Site go through a scheduler hosted by our electronic health record platform, described below. You control what you send. Please see the caution below about not sending sensitive medical details through the Site or standard email.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site collects limited technical information when you visit, such as your device and browser type, general location, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the Site. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described below.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. We do not run Google Analytics on our booking pages. We have turned off Google Signals and advertising features. Google Analytics sets cookies (for example, cookies beginning with “_ga”) to recognize returning visitors and measure usage in aggregate.

You can limit or refuse cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across sites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. We do not use the Site to run third-party advertising or to build advertising profiles about you.

Appointment scheduling. Our booking page shows a scheduler hosted by our electronic health record platform. What you enter in the scheduler goes directly to that platform, and we do not send it to Google Analytics.

How we use information

We use the information collected through the Site to respond to your inquiries, schedule and manage appointments, operate and secure the Site, understand and improve how the Site is used, and meet our legal and professional obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the practice and the Site, including with service providers such as our website host, our scheduling and electronic health record platform, and our analytics provider. Where a service provider may handle protected health information on our behalf, we put a Business Associate Agreement in place as HIPAA requires. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our patients, the public, or the practice.

Protected health information and HIPAA

Information you share with us during clinical care is protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA. The Site is separate from your clinical record. PHI you provide for treatment is maintained in our HIPAA-compliant electronic health record and scheduling system, not in the Site’s general analytics. How we use and safeguard PHI in the course of treatment is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Please do not send PHI through the Site or email

Please do not include diagnoses, symptoms, medications, or other sensitive medical details in standard email. Regular email is not a secure channel. To share clinical information, use the secure patient portal provided after you become a patient, or discuss it directly during your appointment.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information collected through the Site. No website or method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We keep information collected through the Site for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, and then delete or de-identify it. Clinical records are retained separately for the period required by North Carolina law and applicable professional standards.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information you have provided through the Site, and we will respond consistent with applicable law. You can also control cookies through your browser and opt out of analytics as described above. Requests about your clinical records are handled under HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices rather than this policy. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Children’s privacy

Our services are intended for adults. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has provided us information through the Site, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

The Site may link to other websites, such as cited medical and government sources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
